The trunk line of the Yangtze River, across the eastern, central and western regionsof China, was known as the "golden waterway", the implementation of the regionaleconomic and social development and regional economic coordinated developmentstrategy all could not do without the support of the trunk line of the Yangtze Rivershipping. After the impoundment of Three Gorges project, downstream sandy river hadbeen affected by sand reducing, high beach collapsing.It had became the main effects ofriver widen and shipping condition deterioration. In order to give full play to the"golden waterway" benefits, channel construction was on going in recent years.The highguard engineering, also called the revetment, widely implemented in Yangtze Riverregulation project in recent years. High guard engineering trough pattern was a stableand effective mean to improve the waterway conditions.However, as the lower YangtzeRiver bank slope was composed of loosesoil, the stability of the bank was poor in opentop rush condition. Although the engineering structure had improved in recent years, thedesign difficulty of guard engineering was still large. It was significant to choose thesuitable research mean to optimize the engineering proposal. In this study, the middlereaches of the Yangtze River Delta waterways Damazhou reachand Bingyinzhou deltahigh have been taken as an example, research on high guard engineering under theconditions of open top rush will move on.This study first analyzed the evolution and characteristics of the middle reaches ofthe Yangtze River shoal Damazhou waterway.The functional requirements ofBingyinzhou delta high guard engineering and disadvantageous factors affecting theengineering stability were studied.Since the impoundment of the Three Gorges project,the sediment discharge and upstream river regime had greatly changed in recent years.The Damazhou channel Bingyinzhou delta high had been influenced by the current toprush and beach collapsing, causing the mainstream swing, channel bank form staggereddevelopment, channel conditions had worsen sharply in recent years, therefore, theimplementation of Bingyinzhou delta high guard engineering was very necessary. Theguardian engineering was not only needed to ensure the high stability, but also hadcontrol of the mainstream swing, in addition, Bingyinzhou delta high marsh surfaceelevation was relatively low, consideration should also be given to the protection offlood period, it was necessary to optimize engineering structure before used inengineering. Therefore, to build a partial probability model, and to determine the local flow channel according to the related model results, moving boundary, the inlet grillewall through the model left and flow bypass screen control of local model, the similarityof multi-level traffic, and can meet the need of optimization.The local model, using the fixed bed and movable bed experiments, focusing onhigh guard engineering land slope edge processing,was conducted the optimizedresearch. Bingyinzhou delta high guard engineering section where beach body in theflood period flow was strong, had scoured significantly in flood period. The test resultsshow that, when the reinforced three-dimensional mat protecting beach was put on thehigh tidal flat scour area, the interference on the local flow field was smaller, flat andprotect effect was better, and promote the formation of natural slope sedimentdeposition. In addition, even flow high beach face relatively weak, revetment bucket topedge and the beach face connecting position due to engineering disturbance producedconcentrated flow, also had a obvious erosion, should take the powder throw stoneguard edge structure on the beach side of Engineering protection. The results of thisstudy had been used guard the Bingyinzhou delta high engineering design, and had acertain value of popularization.
