Steel tubular pile is widely and quickly used in harbor engineering structuresbecause of its high extension and compressive strength, bending strength and shearingstrength is strong. However, the connection of the steel tubular pile and thesuperstructure has been the relationship between the security and stability of thewhole structure, and the connection is the important of structure normal use. One ofthe pile-to-superstructure connection is by shear key, the detailed design method ofconnection by shear key has not been provided in various design codes, and the designtheory of the shear key connection has not been fully developed. Therefore, theresearch on the steel tubular pile-to-superstructure with shear key has the vitalsignificance.Based on the existing research progress, this paper describes several importantfailure modes, and analysis the failure mechanism. In the process of research on steeltubular pile, based on the generalized Hooke law and certain assumptions, the formuladeduce relational expression longitudinal stress and tangential stress at the coreconcrete under axial compression. The elastic foundation beam analogy method isapplied to the steel tubular pile and the steel tube as the beam on elastic foundation,finite element models are built by SAP2000to simulate steel pipe for different forceanalysis. By applying axial force get the result of numerical simulation shear keyhoop strain, compared with the experimental measured strain values, validation thesteel pipe approximate analysis method is effective under axial force. The resultsshow that steel pipe approximate analysis results with the experimental measuredresults with the same change rule, and found that steel tube in the shear key has themaximum strain values, the phenomenon of stress concentration is obvious. Theapproximate analysis method of steel tubular pile can be used to get the force,displacement, stress and strain of steel tube, for the bearing capacity calculation ofstructure and design method of shear key connection to provide the reference.The steel pipe approximate analysis method under the action of axial force, thispaper to study the mechanical characteristic of the connection set up multiple shearkey, the total axial force according to the different proportion assigned to each shearkey, the study show that the shear key closer to the top bear axial force more than halfof the total axial force, and with the increase of axial force of the ratio of axial force is becoming more and more big. Shear key spacing is smaller, the shear key closer to thetop bear the axial force of the bigger ratio of total axial force. The stress concentrationof shear key connection can’t be ignored, in this paper, the study found that shear keyand steel pipes in welded joint, the stress concentration coefficient of about1.9-2.1.In this paper, the approximate analysis method of steel tubular pile under axialforce, and the method in the application of shear key connection related problems willprovide reference for design method of shear key connection.
