Core Drilling Method has been used to investigate into the Mechanical Properties and side effect of core sample. It has many advantages towards previous methods:By using Core Drilling Method,Researchers can get blocks in more sizes as need; Core drilling method can effectively in getting rid of the differences emerged in the process of sample preparation and conservation.Core drilling method can eliminate the influence of the boundary layer. We conduct investigation into Mechanical Properties of the prime RPC and fiber content of2.4%of the RPC test block to getting the side effect on block’s strength and elastic modulus. The diameters of core samples drilling block are70mm、50mm and30mm respectively. The main conclusions as follows:(1)The compressive strength of70mm-core samples is132.6Mpa,50mm is136.9Mpa,while for30mm is121.7Mpa, the side effect ratio between70mm-core samples and50mm-core samples is between0.968and0.974. Those Value for RPC which has fiber content of2.4%are134.6Mpa,131.1Mpa and128.85Mpa, the side effect ratio between70mm-core samples and50mm-core samples is0.982, the side effect ratio between70mm-core samples and30mm-core samples is0.957.(2) side effect Phenomenon has little influence on the elastic modulus, the extent is7%.(3) Prime RPC core samples Poisson’s ratio ranges from0.12to0.15, while fiber content RPC core samples’ ranges from0.1to0.15.(4)The failure model of Prime RPC core samples is Brittle failure model, the failure sample has a main Vertical cracks. The failure model of fiber content RPC core sample Plastic damage mod, he failure sample has a main Diagonal cracks the angle of which is45degree. The size effect has nothing to do with the core samples’ failure model.
