This paper has adopted hydrodynamic model of MIKE which developed by theDHI Company in Danish, at the same time, it also introduced the MIKE21and MIKE3module together to analyze the unsteady flow of lock filling and drainage to theinfluence on the approach channel flow condition in the waterway engineering.Meanwhile, the article also focuses on the influence the clear water discharge on the lawof three-dimensional sediment movement which generated by sediment silting andscouring in channel.This article focuses on the research and explores the application the numericalsimulation of MIKE software in inland waterway engineering. For this purpose, wehave simulated two problems, and the simulation result verified is mainly agrees withphysical model, meeting our similarity requirements. This can explains in the waterwayengineering MIKE software is applicative, but also can provides a favorable referencefor the analysis of inland river sediment problems in the choice of the mathematicalmodel. The simulating content includes:(1). The paper takes lock chamber drain process simulation as an example in a lockengineering, fully demonstrates in the software of MIKE21open boundary conditionshas an advantage over unsteady flow when lock sluicing. Computed result can not onlyobtains water level and flow rate, but also can clearly reflect the surface fluctuation lawwith the time in the approach channel and entrance area. From the post-processinginterface software build-in, we can clearly observe that there have reciprocating flowexists in the approach channel. In addition, by analyzing the computed result, the paperstudies the influence the surface fluctuation on the depth of ship and the influence thereciprocating flow on the ship docking in the project.(2). The paper based on the domestic typical mountain river Lancang River ManTing big Reach as an example. Firstly, simulating the scour and siltation the clear waterdischarge acted on the Man Ting big after the Olive dam power station built. Throughthree-dimensional numerical simulation of sediment, it can better reflect thethree-dimension of sediment movement under the effect of bends and spur dike, thecomputed result more reasonable. The entire model program adopts unsteady flowmovable-bed experiment, the computing time last for about eight months, watercourserang is about7km. Secondly, compared the three-dimensional simulation results withthe physical model simulation results in the riverbed transversal profile. Finally, deeply analyzes the influence the water discharge silting and scouring on the channel stabilityand maintenance after built the power station.
