The construction of underground pipeline is widely used in the city. As animportant part in the construction of urban infrastructure, the quality of security iscaught much more attention. Underground pipeline flaws of the surrounding mediumwould be normal use, and long-term maintenance of pipeline with certain securityhidden danger, and it is still lack of an economic and effective approach to theintegrity of the defect analysis judgement currently.Ground penetrating radar (GPR) technique is rapid and continuous detectiontechnology. It is a kind of nondestructive testing, and has the characteristics of theacquisition speed, high resolution. With the rapid development of science andtechnology, the application of GPR in practical engineering has been widely used inthe military, transportation, construction, geological prospecting, water conservancy,municipal, archaeology, and other fields.Medium surrounding the underground pipeline defect is difficult to directobservation, so it use time domain finite difference method, numerical simulation forusing GPR simulation software. The process of simulation can distinguish thecharacteristics of reflection image boundary layer structure, defects, and found ithighly accurant, and further sums up the experience with regularity, for the groundpenetrating radar data in the practical engineering provides the theoretical foundationand image analysis.The surrounding ground penetrating radar to detect the underground pipelinebackfill foundation soil experimental is studied.Through analyzing radar dataprocessing, it can obtain the distribution area, then material defects of undergroundpipes to the quality of the surrounding medium were assessed. During the trial, itanalyzes the different frequency of GPR antenna, the moisture content of thefoundation soil, the influence of other factors such as the size of the medium wavespeed.Through using the GPR accurately determining medium surrounding theunderground pipeline defect detection technology,it provides basic research.Through using technology medium surrounding the GPR to detect theunderground pipeline defects in the practical, it further illustrate ground penetratingradar to detect underground pipeline surrounding medium technology is fast,non-destructive, strong practicability, worthy of application and promotion.
