Soil-rock aggregate mixture as a special material has a very wide range ofapplications in roadbed, especially in high-filled embankment, and has a complexmechanical property. Unlike the traditional roadbed, useful method is deeded inconstruction.Firstly, large consolidated drained triaxial compression test was done to studythe mechanical characteristics of soil-rock aggregate mixture under different waterenvironment. From the test results, we can get the following conclusions, stress-straincurve of soil-rock aggregate mixture is obviously nonlinear, without peak stress.Water has an important impact on the mechanical properties of soil-rock aggregatemixture, which can reduce the strength significantly.Secondly, based on similar ratio theory, making two groups soil-rock-mixtureroadbed model in a special model tank with the same criteria, and the models areembedded within the earth pressure cells and displacement strips to record soilpressure and different positions’ deformation of the model. Then, respectivelyapplying graded load until failure occurs on normal conditions and sprinklerimmersion models. The results showed: under normal conditions model ofsoil-rock-mixture roadbed showed better structural, before reaching its ultimate loadp-s curve is nearly linear development, with sudden destruction, and the failuresurface is not a traditional circular slip surface. Water has a very significant impact onits settlement, the size of the bearing capacity and failure mode. Simultaneously, thereis a no constraints slope in the side of the soil-rock-mixture foundation model, withlarger load, the asymmetric stress diffusion and depth of affected soil will be apparentbetween opposite of load plate. Finally, using software ADINA to establish two-dimension calculation model ofroadbed in different conditions, analyze performance and mechanical properties ofroadbed. And comparison with test data of this treatise, both are in good agreement. So the findings are reliable, which has a certain reference value for the actualengineering design and calculations.
