With the rapid development of superconducting technology,it has developed a variety of superconducting power apparatus, such as superconducting motors, superconducting transformers, superconducting cables, superconducting current limiters, superconducting magnetic energy storage, etc. Because of the high temperature superconducting tapes’critical current is related to the direction of the magnetic field and the radial magnetic field will decrease the current and produce ac losses. Therefore,it is essential to design a complex superconducting composite conductor which will pass a large current and produce less ac loss in electrical installations.The YBCO superconducting composite conductor’s reasonable strip and the stacked arrangements of the tapes will reduce the leakage magnetic field.It will reduced the current’s recession,since the superconducting tape’s degradation caused by the anisotropic magnetic field of the critical current.The superconducting tape’s structure is flat ribbon, which makes the current serious degradation in a perpendicular magnetic field. Therefore, adjusting the superconducting composite conductors’arrangement is a way which can reduce the size of the vertical magnetic field.It’s become the focus of the research. In this paper, reducing the effect of the radial magnetic field superconducting composite conductor surface targets. First, we changed the winding pitch, the winding direction and many other cases and established some three-dimensional models of the composite conductor.Secondly,import the model into COMSOL simulation software for magnetic field simulation.Flow a certain size of the current and analyze the influence just because of the direction and the angle of the conductors. Then,compare the simulation results and get the best model. Then get the system parameters of the composite conductor which will improve a maximum critical current. Finally, bring the resulting magnetic field strength that got by simulation into the results.The results got by the critical current degradation experiment which about BSCCO tape and YBCO tape.And calculated the superconducting composite conductor’s critical current.In addition, the fabrication platform of the superconducting composite conductor has been set up. According to the optimum winding parameters, complete the former and the conductor layers’winding. At last,we made the superconducting composite conductor model which length is0.5m and made the experiments of the critical current and ac loss. The simulation results fit well with the experimental results, which proved the correctness of the results.
