Two-dimensional hydrodynamic model was widely applied in the flood forecasting, navigation warning and other related fields of water flow simulation. With the increase requirement of simulation range context and precision, the method to improve the computational efficiency has become an urgent demand in model application. This paper researched on two-dimensional hydrodynamic model algorithm deeply and established two-dimensional hydrodynamic model of parallel computing based on shared memory parallel mode. The model simulated navigation flow on the upper reaches of the Yangtze River and dam break flood at Panftoupao flood storage area and obtained better acceleration effect. At the same time, various factors of influencing parallel efficiency were discussed. The research results provided a feasible method to improve the computational efficiency of the two-dimensional hydrodynamic model.Combining the National Twelfth Five-Year National Technology Support Program the multisystem collaborative integrated intelligent shipping key technology research, the paper was completed and the mainly research content and achieved results were as follows:The research progress of two-dimensional hydrodynamic model and parallel algorithm were synthetically analyzed. According to the method of parallel computation, hydrodynamic parallel model was divided into three types:the message passing model, the shared memory model and GPU computing model. The paper expounded theoretical framework, key technology and optimization progress of three models. Combining characteristics and application research of parallel algorithm, some essential factors about algorithm, application field, speedup, expansibility and transportability were analyzed and contrasted.According to the ability of the model discontinuous treatment and requirement to achieve parallel algorithm, two-dimensional hydrodynamic equation was solved based on finite volume method of unstructured meshes, grid division, control unit selection, the control equation discretization, dry and wet boundary treatment, the time step setting were expounded in detail. On the basis of model algorithm analysis, the paper proposed theory that district meshes were not related at the same time step, corresponding computations were distributed to different threads to achieve parallel and two-dimensional hydrodynamic parallel computation model was established by using OpenMP parallel model.According to the real-time navigation flow condition simulation of the upper reaches of the Yangtze River Chongqing section and dam break flood simulation requirements of Panftoupao flood storage area of Songhua River, established two-dimensional hydrodynamic parallel computation model based on OpenMP respectively. The computing results of parallel model and serial model were analyzed and verified, the results showed that the models has better acceleration performances, more than8times speedup were obtained at16core workstation. The paper discussed operating performance and expansibility of parallel model at different meshes computation amount, the results show that parallel model has more obvious acceleration effect and more excellent performance along with the larger calculation amount. At the same time, the model has favorable expansibility, the speedup promoted with the increase of computation cores amount.
