| Energy and environment problems have become the bottlenecks that restrict the development of society. The reform of energy structure, promotion of energy saving and emission reduction and improvement of energy comprehensive utilization ratio are important directions for the energy industry especially for the power system industry. As one of the important transformers in power plant, the start-up standby transformer performs the task of units standby power. However considering the actual condition of idle for long time, the start-up standby transformer’s hot standby could generate a waste of resources. The problems in cooling standby of start-up standby transformer are proposed based on analysis of differential protection, inrush current cause and identification method. Then a implementation for cooling start-up standby transformer’s status is proposed by eliminating bad effects through quick switching device coordinate with differential protection. A simulation model is built on RTDS, and the test results show it is possible of cooling stand for the start-up standby transformer, based on which a detailed on-site testing scheme is provided. The possibility of cooling stand is further verified by the on-site testing. |
