With growing concern about energy, wind power has been extensively developed and exploited around the world, and gradually becomes a mature industry. In the background of the rapid growth of installed capacity and the scale development phase in China, voltage stability and control problems caused by large-scale wind power centralized connected to the grid become more and more prominent, one of the key issues is the wind farm reactive power regulation capability. Based on the project of research of reactive power regulation capability analysis method of wind farm and its system development in Jibei power grid, the static voltage stability problem in large-scale wind power collecting area and reactive voltage problem reflected by wind turbine generators tripping accidents are analyzed in this paper, playing an important role to ensure the stable operation.Firstly, taking the doubly fed induction generator as the research object, the P-V curve is applied to analyze the voltage trend of the integrated point caused by the wind power variable output. According to the selected power flow calculation method in wind farm, an index to identify the voltage stability margin is developed. The simulation combined with the actual operation in Guyuan wind power system is performed to discuss the index change under different operating conditions.Secondly, Based on the power flow equations and status information of pre-contingency case, the calculation method of static stability index about injected power is deduced by using substitution theorem and the sensitivity of voltage stability index. A rapid algorithm of static voltage stability index under N-1contingencies is proposed and simulated in several test system.Finally, this paper establishes the equation model of wind power collecting area to discuss the factors of high voltage trip-off and investigate the mechanism of large cascading trip-off of wind turbine generators. The corresponding index system of reactive power regulation capacity and voltage security analysis methods in wind farm based on WAMS data are constructed to realize the real-time monitoring and online analysis of reactive power operation and voltage levels.
