Large capacity rectifier in the metallurgical industry, in particular has play a decisive role position in the aluminum electrolysis industry, its normal operation is directly related to the production of series of security and stability, an annual output of150000tons electrolytic series, outage5hours the loss of up to tens of millions of dollars, rectifier transformer as the key equipment of electrolytic aluminum series power supply, its protection configuration is very important, at the same time, the rectifier transformer is different from the general power transformer, the configuration of relay protection to meet the special requirements for the protection of rectifier unit, and because the rectifier transformer valve side winding, for high current, cannot install the conventional current transformer, it is difficult to measure, on the transformer differential protection configuration caused difficult, therefore is not currently set differential protection, only by the gas protection as the main protection of transformer internal fault, also set up two sets of overcurrent protection, backup protection, improve the rectifier transformer relay protection configuration or not, directly related to the stable operation of the power grid. Therefore, to take all possible measures to ensure the normal operation of power rectifier, perfect, reliable protection settings can be found as soon as possible set of abnormal situation, the fault timely, prevent the accident, is important to ensure the safe operation of the system.In recent years, the country has a number of large rectifier circuit explosion electrolytic series, rectifier transformer burned, and the serious influence production (such as the Mike aluminum).
