Soft as a special form of foundations, common in coastal areas of China. Becausethe soft soil with compression large, high water content, and low intensity, so in softsoil area after the completion of the highway operators often appear uneven settlement,bridge jumping and so on, to the normal operation of the road brought a very bigimpact.The direct reason of highway bridge bump is the excessive settlement differencebetween the bridge abutment and the adjacent embankment. Its mechanism is verycomplex. Many scholars have carried out extensive research on this topic and putforward many methods to solve it. At present, people tend to use extra-light expandedpolystyrene has incomparable and excellent vibration isolation capabilities.In this paper, combined with consolidation settlement theories and dynamics ofsoil, the finite element analysis software is use to analyse and calculate the roadperformance, Isolation effect between the bridge abutment and the adjacentembankment in the soft soil foundation. Research mainly in the following areas:Use of the theory of consolidation settlement to calculate settlement of differentsoft base thickness, elastic modulus, densities and Poisson’s ratio. Then, summary theregular of settlement in the soft soil foundation. Next, use abaqus finite elementsoftware and the dynamics theories of soil, combined with the basic principles ofdynamics, analyse the isolation effect of the embankment in the soft soil foundationwhich use the eps in it. Simultaneously, compared with the ordinary embankmen toprotruding the superiority of the material which use of the eps. In addition, also analysethe factors of pavement performance (such as elastic modulus, poisson’s ratio, density,paving thickness, etc.), it provide a favorable basis to select the suitable engineeringmaterials. Analysing and calculating the length of embankment which use of the epsand get the most reasonable length. Finally, discovered the price of lightweightembankment is not very expensive by comparing several different economic methods.Through a series of analysis and calculation, we got some meaningful results, and wehope these can promote the use of energy in practice.
