In order to guarantee bearing capacity of the slab while reducing weight and making full use of floor clearance, exerting the strength of steel and concrete, steel-concrete composite hollow slab such form structure was proposed.Steel tube hollow concrete slab is different from the ordinary steel-concrete composite hollow slab, it is a special composite slab. It gets steel tube applied to ordinary concrete plate, as to form "cavity within board" to achieve the purpose of reducing weight, concrete can’t be poured into steel tube while pouring, steel tube participate in bearing moments and shear forces which is belong to reinforced. This type of composite hollow slab has many advantages such as high bearing capacity, high rigidity, good integrity, high construction mechanization, saving templates, it has a good prospect for engineering application.Experiments of five specimens of such composite hollow slabs were conducted to study the mechanical performance, including three used to study the static pure bending performance, two for the study on the performance in the role of composite effect of bend and shear. Through experimental research, the failure modes, the deformation properties, strain development of steel tube and concrete, crack development and ultimate bearing capacity of Steel tube hollow concrete slabs were focused. Test results show that:the failure modes of this composite hollow slab are normal section flexural damage, it has good integrity and ductility, strain of the side face and the middle of the slab all fit to plane section assumption, high shear capacity exists in this composite hollow slab, and the shear force would not weaken flexural capacity of the section. Then, this article uses ANSYS conduct finite element numerical simulation analysis and the result are in good agreement with the measured values, furthermore, the relationship of steel ratio and bending capacity is discussed through ANSYS, comparison with reinforced concrete hollow slab and steel tube hollow slab is researched. Based on sorting experimental data and numerical results, this paper analyzed stress distribution on the forced section by analytic method, gives the bending capacity formula of steel tube hollow slab.
