The multi-ribbed composite wall is a new structural system which is characterized by anti-seismic, energy saving and eco-friendly. Certain staged achievements have been made in study of multi-storied and high-rise buildings at present, but the influence of openings on the large bottom-space buildings should be further discussed.Based on the quasi-static contrast tests of two bottom-frame multi-ribbed composite walls, an investigation on the failure models and the failure procedure are presented. The seismic performance and the stress redistribution of the walls are also analyzed. At last, a stiffness formula is given to simplify the lateral stiffness calculation process.The main content is as follows:1. Based on the quasi-static contrast tests of the bottom-frame multi-ribbed composite walls, the whole damaging process and failure mode are analyzed. And the seismic performance, including the bearing capacity, stiffness, deformation ability, ductility and energy dissipation ability, are all discussed. The stress distribution analysis of the steel bar is conducted to get a clear understanding of the influence of the openings in the bottom-frame multi-ribbed composite wall.2. Two finite element models of bottom-frame multi-ribbed composite walls are established which the parameters are the same with testing specimens. The comparison of the numerical results with experimental ones is showed that the numerical models are reliable.3. To study the influence of the opening to structural behaviors, such as bearing capacity, stress redistribution and lateral stiffness, the finite element models with different parameters, including position and size, are established. And through regression analysis of the numerical analysis results, a simplified formula for calculating the lateral stiffness of the structure is given.
