In the extreme pressure eatimation process, it often assumes that wind pressures obey Gussian distribution, which uses the peak factor method to estimate extreme pressure. However, the researches show that due to aerodynamic effects, the effection of the side walls, leeward walls and wind loads on the roof no longer obeys the Gaussian distribution, peak factor method does not apply to determine the extreme pressure of Non-Gaussian wind loads. If still following the Gaussian assumptions, it will affect the structure safety of large-span structures. Thus, a systematic study of the wind pressure characteristics on curtain wall surfaces of large-span structutes and the adoption of an effective and reasonable method to accurately estimate wind load extreme values will have theoretical and practical significances. The main conteins include the following aspects.1.With the extreme wind pressure background, introducing classical extreme value theory and Hermite moment model theory.2.This paper adapt three methods of the classical Extreme Value Theory in Cook&Mayne method, Hermite method and peak factor method to solve extreme pressure of the cylinder roof.3.Based on the wind tunnel experiments, the analysis of large-span cylinder roof of pressure characteristics, through the processing of the experimental datas, getting the means pressure coefficient and rms pressure coefficient of three different span ratio and different aspect ratio, finally summarizing its distribution.4.Calculation of the eighth cylinder roof of wind pressure and extreme value distribution, this paper use Cook&Mayne method, Hermite method and the peak factor method to determine wind extreme pressure and the calculated results are compared and evaluated various extreme value methods.
