ABSTRACT:Particle transport in saturated porous media play an important role in pollutant purification, nuclear waste disposal, oil exploration and internal erosion of hydraulic structures, and it’s an important research direction in the field of geotechnical engineering.Based on the above background, combining the research status of particles transportation in saturated porous media, using self-developing test device, the paper studies the particles transportation in saturated porous media by the test, the main contents include two aspects:experimental research and mechanism analysis.Firstly, to calculate the relationship between the particle concentration and turbidity in the water by the test, discard the complex and inefficient method of weighing after filtrating often used in old process of study, adopt the method of calculating the particle concentration through the relationship between the particle concentration and turbidity instead; secondly, to carry out indoor soil column tests under different particle size, particle concentration, flow velocity, flow direction, obtain the breakthrough curves of suspended particles in saturated porous media under six different particle size (D50=10μm,15μm,20μm,25μm,33μm,47μm),3different particle concentration (0.2mg/ml,0.5mg/ml,0.8mg/ml),3different flow velocity (0.087cm/s,0.173cm/s,0.260cm/s),3different flow direction (top-down, horizontal, bottom-up); Finally, through the comprehensive comparison and in-depth analysis of the results, to explore the influences of particle size, particle concentration, flow velocity and flow direction on the particles transportation in saturated porous media. The analysis of test results shows, the physical factors such as particle size, particle concentration, flow velocity and flow direction will have significant influences on the particles transportation in saturated porous media; Meanwhile, the various physical factors is an organic factor, are correlational and complementary to each other. Changes in certain physical factors affecting the particle transportation, it would also prompt the change of the influence of other physical factors on particles transportation.
