Chinese maintained strong momentum of economic development in the past20years of development, all high-rise and super high-rise buildings have been springing up throughout the project. Wind load is an important class of horizontal load,the wind loads are ususlly the primary factor in the design of high-rise building.In2012the "load code for the design of building structures" GB50009-2012release, the old code were revised, the calculation of wind load changes, a greater impact on the structural design calculation of wind load. Therefore, this paper selected428metres circular, square building to calculate the along-wind load for different code with the eight cases. Then, this paper selected200metres circular, square building to calculate the across-wind load for different code with the five cases.Mainly carries on the comparison the following aspects:(1)by calculating The difference between the new, old 《load code》 were found.(2)the Differences between the same period 《load code》、《tall building code》 were found.(3)To investigate the shape factor of wind load of the circular building between the new 《load code》 and the 《tall building code》by analyzing in detail:(1)the wind pressure height coefficient of the new 《load code》is less than the old 《tall building code》,dynamic response factor on the contrary. The base shearing force design value is same,the base bending moment design value become larger.(2) the wind pressure height coefficient of the new 《load code》 become lower, so the circular building’s across-wind load changed, The base shearing force design value and the base bending moment design value become lower. The method of calculation to the square building is not same to the circular building. andThe calculation of the square building is lower.(2)the convexity of the circular building influences the shape factor for wind pressure in the 《load code》. the shape factor for wind pressure of the 《tall building code》 is all0.8.There are differences leading to both calculation.
