Smoke and NOx emissions restrict the development of diesel engine. Considering the economic of agricultural diesel engine, it’s unsuitable to apply more emission control technology to agricultural diesel engine. This article starts from the nature of combustion, through modificating fuel and designing combustion chamber, research combustion and emissions performance of agricultural diesel engine.Fuel modification scheme proposed by diesel blending oxygen fuel to improve the combustion and emissions of diesel engine. Agricultural diesel engine mixed burning alcohol fuel test results show that:compared with the pure diesel, n-butyl alcohol diesel and ethanol diesel ignition delay period is longer, the maximum peak heat release rate increases, maximum explosion pressure delay. Medium speed1500r/min, n-butyl alcohol diesel and ethanol diesel power performance is better than that of pure diesel, high speed of2000r/min, n-butyl alcohol diesel and ethanol diesel is almost about pure diesel. N-butyl alcohol diesel is better than ethanol diesel of fuel economy. N-butyl alcohol most condition emission of NOx is lower than the pure diesel and reduce effect is more apparent than ethanol diesel, at the time of the calibration speed and high load of ethanol diesel NOx emission is higher than the pure diesel. Alcohols diesel which Soot emissions is lower than pure diesel, n-butyl alcohol diesel compared to ethanol diesel inhibit carbon smoke generated has a better effect, most point Soot can be reduced by60%.Combustion chamber design scheme proposed by designing main and auxiliary combustion chamber structure to direct injection combustion chamber? made it has a good emissions of vortex combustor. This paper carried out three kinds of combustion chamber B、C、D, compared with A combustion chamber of their combustion and emissions performance. At the top of the piston new combustion chamber would design main and arc vice chamber, vice chamber is located next to main chamber, a throat connect vice and main chamber. Compression ratio, main and vice chamber volume ratio, throat size, the angle of arc vice chamber had significant effect on combustion. D combustion chamber which compression ratio is too large, combustion deterioration, engine starting difficulty. B combustion chamber which arc vice center line and injector centerline was not in a straight line, main and vice chamber have smaller volume, ignition advance, rate of pressure rise, economical efficiency was low, Soot emissions increased significantly. C combustion chamber which compression ratio, main and vice chamber volume, throat size and arc angle matching is better. In compression stroke, air in vice chamber product strong vortex motion, prompting fuel in the vice chamber mixture with air, strengthen the main chamber of oil and gas mixture. Compared with the original machine, it is easy for early fire, ignition advance. In expansion stroke,due to arc chamber have strong flow field, diffusion combustion is rapid, high temperature area surface increases, maximum combustion temperature drop. Making C combustion chamber has better starting performance, in small and medium load condition has stable power, economic level is almost about original machine, Soot emissions reduced significantly in the calibration speed condition.The study show that:compared with pure diesel, diesel blending small proportion of alcohol, fuel performance improved, but as the alternative fuel of diesel engine, diesel blengding n-butyl alcohol combustion and emissions performance is better than that of ethanol diesel. Using combustion chamber scheme, the Trade-off between NOx and Soot, in medium and small load condition, dynamic stability, compared with the original machine, under the condition of calibration speed, Soot emission improved obviously, such as to improve the performance of the new combustion chamber, the combustion system needs to be further optimized. In this paper, experimental research on diesel clean combustion to achieve energy conservation and emissions reduction has certain guiding significance.
