In recent years, with the high-rise buildings are constantly emerging, elevator is morewidely used and close to people’s daily life as the most common means of transportation.People not only require elevator running smoothly, riding comfortably and safety, but also putforward higher request to its security and efficient operation. And, the elevator safetymonitoring has become one of the important projects of elevator industry, and its monitoringhas also become an important research direction. The current elevator monitoring system is supplied by the elevator manufacturers withsimple functions, and different manufacturers’ openness of the monitoring system is low, which makes it difficult to centrally manage. The study subject of this thesis is to design aprototype of elevator monitoring system which based on better compatibility and perfectfunction. The major work of this thesis is listed as follows:(1)Combined with actual condition, requirements of the elevator monitoring are analyzed, and a general design scheme is presented. On the whole, elevator monitoring system consistsof data acquisition subsystem and monitoring center subsystem, and the interaction offunction modules inside each subsystem is designed. Then, the hardware and software of dataacquisition subsystem is selected and designed.(2)There is a detail design specification of the data acquisition subsystem in this thesis. On hardware, ARM microcontroller S3C6410is the core controller extended with Ethernetport, image acquisition, acceleration sensor, intelligent ammeter and switch signal interfacesto acquire data from the elevator. On software, for the emphasis in data acquisition andtransmission, video data acquisition and transmission is designed and explained in detail, which include camera driver design, video data acquisition, image compression andtransmission.(3)To avoid fighting, robbery and other abnormal behavior occurred in the elevator car, this thesis proposed an abnormal behavior detection method based on computer vision for thepurpose of real-time security monitoring. Firstly, mixture of Gaussians was used to extract themotion area, and the motion region was marked. Then, observation sequence updated inreal-time of feature matrix was established by the optical flow features of Harris corner pointsobtained from labeled area which was normalized to the feature matrix. Finally, applyingreconstruction works of two-dimensional principal component analysis on the sequence, abnormal behavior can be detected according to the energy ratio between the recoveredfeature matrix and original feature matrix. The experimental results indicate that the proposedmethod is effective.(4)Data acquisition subsystem is developed on the designed platform, and prototype ofthe whole system is implemented and completed the testing. The elevator monitoring system proposed by this thesis has important significance andthe value of practical application for regional elevator monitoring application and protocolstandardization of elevator monitoring system.
