As one of the karst landform-distributing’s nation in the world, the scope ofengineering construction has extended to those areas with the rapid development ofeconomy and urban construction in China. The Karst have a strong impact ontype-selecting scheme and safety of the building. So, how to choose the foundation typeand construction scheme which is for building is a problem face on structural engineers.Base on the process that chossing the foundtion type for a building in HuangShi, thisthesis will analyse the foundation types of Karst region in common use and put forward asolution that is not only highly reliability and operational, but also have a wide range ofapplicability owing to its conservation.This thesis includes the following contents and research:(1) Analysis of karst features in HuangShi and its impact on ground capacity anddeformation, and then making a comparison among the foundation types used in karstregions from their own characteristics and application scope. in addition, this thesisdiscuss the irrational situation in foundation selection and the origins;(2) Putting forward a method that adding partial pile when the building confrontgeological unevenly distribute phenomenon, that’s a solution to over the adverse effectswhen a program with local presence by using the strip foundation combine with piles;(3)According to the actual situation of the project’s geological conditions, the authorfinite element model by the finite element software ANSYS, analyse the impact ofbuilding and the settlement of pile in the Karst region;(4) Intending the scheme that combing strip foundation with partial piles pointing atthe project with a local presence of specific karst fissures circumstances and setting up thefinite element model by ANSYS for feasibility analysis. At last, prove the scheme iseconomic through cost analysis; (5) Proposed a method that the pile and strip foundation isn’t connected directly,adjusting the differential settlement by laying flexible cushion between the top of pileand strip foundation. At last,the author verify the feasibility of the method by finiteelement analysis.
