Natural clay generally have structural. Some clay have a strong structural, and hasan important impact on actual project, the scholars at home and abroad generally give"structural clay" title, the clay have a strong structural with a greater impact on thephysical and mechanical propertiesStructural Clay widely distributed in the area of Zhanjiang, harm shown in practicalengineering is more outstanding than other areas, the structural characteristics has a largeimpact on its deformation characteristics. The main conclusions are as follows:1. Natural undisturbed sample has structure yield stress. When the structure of theoverlying pressure is less than the yield stress, deformation of the lower rate of change;overburden pressure is greater than the yield stress of the structure, the deformation rateof change increases rapidly, a sharp increase in the amount of deformation.2. Natural undisturbed and specimen sample compression characteristics have a bigdifference. When overlying pressure is less than the yield stress, remolded compressionis higher than undisturbed samples; when overlying structure is greater than the yieldstress of the structure, remolded compression below the undisturbed samples.3. Natural undisturbed sample deformation loading and unloading phases are phasesas follows: each level of pressure to change the initial soil produces large deformation, deformation gradually grow over time to stabilize; strain versus time curve from thelinear to nonlinear relationship relationship transformation. However, the total amountof springback deformation of the soil in the unloading stage is much less than the totalamount of deformation produced by the compression load phase.4. Natural undisturbed sample has a unload critical ratioR cr=0.25and unload limitratioR u=0.75, the soil resilient deformation process is divided into three stages:①when0<R <, the soil sample is very small or zero springback deformation;②when <R <soil samples obvious rebound deformation;③when R>, the occurrence of astrong rebound soil deformation, and the deformation of this stage rebound largestproportion of the total amount of springback deformation.
