ABSTRACT:Currently series capacitor series compensation device is not stable enough to run high failure rate. The conventional testing capacitor current series standards adopted DC voltage withstand test. The existing test standard is not consistent with the actual condition of the AC voltage withstand test, Cannot fully reflect the quality of the capacitor. In order to assess the Series Capacitor overload capacity, the test should be able to simulate series compensation capacitor short-circuit fault to assessment the capacitor overvoltage abilities. This paper is based on the standard IEC60143series capacitor overload test and the working frequency,and combined with the actual working conditions in order to improve the single series capacitor overload routine test. The main work of this dissertation is summarized as follows:The main introduction of this dissertation is the status of the operating characteristics of series capacitor research and testing, by contacting the actual working conditions, pointed out the overload test the key point is from the Fault starting point to the Over-voltage peaks transition time must short. About one cycle around. Then around to achieve this transition process, carried out by MATLAB software simulate the series resonant boost, Parallel resonant boost and parallel resonant Energy Storage boost and other schemes. In the design process, Test device was designed to be as small size, light weight, small capacity to easy to transport and field use. according to the simulation clear the influence of various parameters of the circuit to the test results, proposed a more appropriate parameter configuration, and described the characteristics of each scheme as well as a detailed description of the drawbacks.According to the simulation of the design solutions, combining the experimental station of existing equipment to build and debug the circuit. During the test by continuously adjusting the current limiting resistor reached the ideal transition time of about two cycles. Through IEC test platform for a few different types of series capacitors carried out in accordance with the requirements to do the overload test. During the test we innovatively introduced the dielectric loss test digital bridge for real-time online monitoring of the state.Through the acquisition and analysis of test data, the test found a phenomenon which is the capacitance change with the change of dielectric loss. finally developed overload test equipment first domestic actual conditions, put forward a test method of load series capacitor, the series capacitor on the operation and over load test by sampling method. Thus ensuring the quality of the series capacitor equipment, enhance grid stability, security safe use of electricity.
