Rigid frame-continuous beam bridge, whose piers of the middle span or several spans near the middle span are consolidated with the girder, is the combination of continuous rigid frame bridge and continuous girder bridge. It has the advantages of the mentioned two kinds of bridge, and avoids the disadvantages of them successfully. Therefore, this type of bridge is widely used in long span concrete girder bridge. On the background of the Xiangfu Road rigid frame-continuous girder bridge (65m+5×120m+65m), the safety evaluation for pier anti-collision and ship-bridge collision dynamic response of rigid frame-continuous girder bridge were studied in this paper. The main research work is as follows:1、Using the Xiangfu Road Bridge as a background, the most unfavorable position of vessel-pier collision of rigid frame-continuous girder bridge was studied. The result showed that the moment of pier bottom is the maximum under the action of vessel collision, and it would increase with the vessel collision point rising.2、The safety evaluation method for pier anti-collision of rigid frame-continuous girder bridge was introduced in this paper, which was based on the national highway bridge specifications and the AASHTO guide. Moreover, the safety evaluation of Xiangfu Road Bridge in Xiangjiang River was done.3、For the investigation of the numerical calculation of ship impact force, A propelled barge(92.8m) and several rigid wall models were established by ANSYS/LS-DYNA. The width and curvature of the rigid wall were analyzed for investigating their effects on the ship impact force. Then, an appropriate model was established to calculate ship impact force for the project example.4、Characteristics and influencing factors of ship-bridge collision dynamic response were analyzed for rigid frame-continuous girder bridge. A Midas simulation full bridge model was established to analyze the following two aspects:firstly, the dynamic amplification of the structure under the action of ship impact force was studied. Secondly, several influencing factors for the dynamic response of piers were studied including the stiffness of piers, the constraint on pier’s top and the mass of the girder.
