Abstract:The booming development of regional economy and rapid expansion of urban size bring about rapid increase of urban residents travel demand and traffic congestion. In order to alleviate the traffic pressure, public transport development has become a top priority. Public transport is attached to the transit network, and whether the transit network is convenient or not directly determines the attraction of public transport. Therefore, the study of public transport network planning is of great importance. This paper explores the method for public transport network planning, and the main work done is as follows:Current situation of public transport in Pu’er city is analyzed, the traffic passenger flow rule and trip characteristics in Pu’er city is investigated and studied. Problems of public transport in Pu’er city are qualitatively analyzed. Based on the above investigation data and the use of TransCAD software, the occurrence and attraction quantity in planning year in Pu’er city are forcasted, and the OD matrix in planning year is estimated. The influencing factors of transit network optimization in recent years are analyzed. The transit network optimization model is built. The reasonable evaluation indicators are selected. A evaluation index system is constructed. The existing problems in a bus lines or transit network are diagnosed by using the clustering analysis. The bus line and transit network are optimized and adjusted according to the analysis results.Based on the current situation, a reasonable bus line and transit network planning model is constructed. The original traffic zone is selected according to passenger flow and actual conditions. The set of alternative bus lines are obtained by using the improved shortest path algorithm. On the above basis, long-term transit network planning results are obtained by applying improved genetic algorithm.
