With the continuous development of national economy and the deepening of the reform, the power industry is developing rapidly. The people need to enhance power supply reliability and power quality unceasingly, so the safe and reliable operation of the power system also put forward higher request. FTU is integrating protection, measurement and monitoring of feeder automation terminal unit. It is mainly used in power distribution automation system below35kv. Feeder automation is an important link of power distribution automation and is also the way to improve power supply reliability of distribution network directly. FTU is a core unit of feeder automation, so the design and study of FTU is of great significance to improve the reliability of power supply and the development of electric power system.This paper puts forward the concrete design scheme of FTU based on STM32F103.The FTU based on STM32F103processor includes dual power supply switching circuit, digital input and output circuits, Ethernet serial FLASH circuit, communication circuit, the large capacity card output interface circuit, RS232communication circuit, current and voltage conversion circuit and other hardware circuit. Through the FIR algorithm, FFT algorithm, fault location algorithm and A/D conversion we designed the software of FTU. The designed FTU is used in FIR filter simulation. The experiment shows that the designed FTU can achieve the good effects. The designed FTU is used in ring net cabinet and power distribution lines. The experiment shows that the designed FTU can monitor the operation condition of ring net cabinet and complete the circuit breaker fault line cutting automatically.
