Node form with cantilever beam splicing is increasingly used because of its goodquality and large deformation capabilities. Basically, existing research is for node areaitself, shows that this form of connection has good seismic performance, but there is noresearch of its seismic performance from the structural integrity. This paper is aboutexperimental study on steel frame structures using cantilever section in splicing energy. In this paper, three specimens are designed by different methods, through cyclicloading, the load-displacement and hysteresis curve is obtained. Analysis results show thatnode form with cantilever beam splicing is reliable with good seismic performance; theductility of bolt spice is much better than welds, in the basis of guarantee of the yield loadand the ultimate bearing capacity, by adjusting the bolt slip bearing capacity and dissipatethe earthquake energy can significantly enhance the seismic behavior of structures; theweaker the splicing is, the greater the deformation will be and dissipating more energy;from the perspective of ductility, actual force splicing design is suggested. Finally, the different design methods are discussed, proposed the weakening splicednode can be designed as dissipating element of steel frame. The study fills the black in the yield of experimental study on this node form from thestructural integrity, some design and construction suggestions are given out.
