As the rapid development of China’s railway construction in recent years,by the end of2013,China has built a huge railway network. The railway operating mileage has broken through100000kilometers, and the operating length of high-speed railway has broken through10000kilometers. The following problem is that as the gradual complication of railway network, fault of a single station or line may easily trigger a chain reaction.Complex network theory and method is a new point of view on the research of complex systems, which has attracted much attention in recent years. With the deepening of the research, complex network has been applied in a variety of disciplines. In the traffic field, it is mainly applied to studying urban public transport network, aviation network problems and railway network problems, etc.In this paper, the topological features of China’s railway network are analyzed based on the complex network theory. On this basis, the concept of relative entropy in information theory is introduced, and China’s railway network robustness measure and optimization are studied. First of all, the China’s railway geography network model is constructed to study the complex network characteristics of China’s railway network. Secondly, the concept of relative entropy in information theory is introduced to build a measurement model. Taking China’s12th five-year plan of railway network as an example, the measurement model is proved to be practical. Come to a conclusion that the measurement model based on relative entropy can provide more information than that of the measurement model based on graph theory. Finally, set up a fault tolerance optimization model from macro to micro. Taking heterogeneity as objective function, scale and actual constraints as constraint conditions, a macroscopic optimization model for China’s railway geography is established. When the average node degree is3.7464, the fault tolerance may reach the maximum. On the basis of macroscopic optimization model, taking the heterogeneity as an objective function, efficiency constraints, cost constraints and macro optimization constraint as constraint conditions, the micro model of micro network is established. The optimization result is put to a fault tolerance test. The results show that the optimized network has better fault tolerance.
