ABSTRACT:As the major rock-breaking tools on the hard rock tunnel boring machines, disc cutters’cutting performance directly affects the efficiency of excavation equipment and the safety of the project. On the basis of consulting a large number of literatures published at home and abroad, then comprehensively analyzed test platform relate to test TBM cutter’s cutting performance and the research situation of cutter experiments, a new multifunctional equipment for testing cutting performance of disc cutters was designed. And then a series of experiment researches on the rock-breaking process by cutters was performed. The main researches are as follows:(1) By analyzing the rock-breaking processes" and characteristics under the situation of static indentation, rolling cutting and impact-cutting respectively, then combined the characteristics and mechanics theory of rock, force prediction models of disc cutter under the situation of static indentation and impact-cutting were summarized.(2) The rock-breaking processes by disc cutters under the situation of static indentation, rolling cutting and impact-cutting respectively are dynamically simulated by ANSYS/LS-DYNA. Thus, the rock-breaking phenomenon and load were analyzed. Furthermore, analyses of cutter rock breaking in time domain and frequency domain were conducted based on stochastic process theory. Moreover, the essence rule and random characteristics of cutters’load were revealed. Finally, combined with the result of theoretical calculation, the technical indications for loading on the equipment can be obtained.(3) According to the functional requirement of the equipment, and combined with the research needs of study group, a new multifunctional equipment for testing cutting performance of disc cutters was built. Then the finite element analysis of the overall structure of the equipment was carried out using ANSYS, and the weak part and the excessive strength part in the structure can be observed. Furthermore, the test device was conducted a reliability analysis aimed at the weak component. Finally, the experiment platform was carried out stress-strain test by setting up corresponding testing system, and the results verified the accuracy of simulation analysis.(4) Using the equipment, experimental researches under the situation of static indentation, rolling cutting and impact-cutting were conducted, respectively. By recording dynamic rock breaking process, and analyzing the rock’s macro crushing phenomenon, the distribution rule of rock fragment and load characteristics of cutters were obtained.
