Due to geometric and space constraints that can exist in and around construction sites, the superstructure for many bridges must be constructed skewed relative to items that the bridge spans to assist with track alignment and leap over the obstacle reasonable while satisfying culvert hydrology demands. Compared with a bridge having an orthogonal substructure, the behavior of skewed bridges is more complicated due to torsional effects that result from the skew angle. In the course of skew bridges are commonly used, part of the bridges crack in the longitudinal direction during construction or operation stage. To solve this phenomenon, this paper analyzes the transverse stress of prestressed concrete skew girder bridge during the construction phase, which could be referenced for the engineering construction of skew girder bridge.This paper takes a domestic prestressed concrete skew continuous box beam as the research background, collected transverse stress data in construction process. It introduces the specific methods and steps of the numerical simulation of the bridge construction stage by using the FEA software ANSYS. Depending on different slope of the numerical models and the presence or absence of transverse prestressed steels numerical models, the article studies the influence of the transverse stress.By analyzed the measured concrete strain data and compared with the transverse stress distribution of different sections in skew box girder, it results the transverse stress characteristics and rules in mid-span section and3/4section and fulcrum section of the1st box girder and in mid-span section of the2nd box girder; Through establishing numerical analysis model by different oblique angles, this paper sums up the impact of the slope to the distribution of transverse stress; Via contrasted transverse stress of box girder with the presence or absence of transverse prestressed steels in different sections, it concludes the transverse prestressed impacted on skew box girder transverse stress.
