With the continuous development of science and global industrialization, moreand more people are concerned about power quality. In order to promote energyproduction, support sustainable and healthy development of carbon industries andnew energy, we should vigorously promote the new model that combines thedistributed generation and smart grid. It requires that smart grid is compatible withdistributed generation and energy storage. Microgrid technology provides technicalsupport for the combination between distributed generation and smart grid. Therefore,the research carries out practical significance and meets today’s grid trends. Inmicrogrid, due to the existance of distributed generation, nonlinear load and varioususe of electrical and electronic equipment, power quality problems in microgrid ismore complex and prominent. The power quality problem in microgrid can be solvedby the Custom Power technology. In order to govern the complex power qualityproblems effectively, it is an urgent need for an accurate power quality disturbancedetection method. Therefore, the study of power quality detection method inmicrogrid is of great importance.This paper firstly analysis the causes and hazards of power quality questions inmicrogrid. Then according to the characteristics of power quality in microgrid, thispaper leads to Hilbert-Huang transform. Secondly, based on the in-depth analysis ofthe empirical mode decomposition method, explore the causes and solutions of endeffect and mode mixing. In order to solve the problem of end effect of EMD, thispaper use adaptive waveform matching extension method. In order to solve theproblem of mode mixing of EMD, this paper use assisted high-frequency harmonicsto pretreat the original signal and gives the empirical formula of high frequencyharmonics. Moreover, use the improved HHT method to detect the power qualitydisturbance in microgrid. The correctness and effectiveness of the method have beenverified through simulation.
