In this paper, we staring from the complexity science and the traffic flow theory,indicating that the influence of self-organized critical (SOC) traffic flow. Explain thecharacteristic of SOC, the characteristic of traffic flow and the characteristic of cellularautomata (CA) which we use it to simulate, and apply them to build the mean field equationswhich for the traffic flow mathematical modeling. We also use the software of Matlab tosimulate the characteristic of SOC at single lane, multiple lanes, by analysis the main factorsof traffic, determine the characteristic of multiple factors which can influence the SOC oftraffic flow.At the first, this paper indicates the significance of the research of SOC; introduce therelated research at home and abroad, and determine the research framework and the technicalroute provide the principle of traffic flow design and the optimization method.Secondly, follow the issue of the complexity science, especially the SOC; we indicate therelation theory and the hot issue of complexity science, which can support the research oftraffic flow by basic theory, from the aspect complexity system, SOC, dynamic modeling,mean field theory, combine the fractal model, the sand pile model respectively. Italso provides the goal and direction for the research content.In chapter III, We introduce the related traffic flow theory from the macro, the micro andthe macroscopic model. Indicate the theory of the traffic flow and the traditional traffic flow,the three-phase traffic flow; support the related parameters and algorithm which can be usedon simulation.We simulate the SOC of traffic flow at the fourth chapter, firstly we indicate the relatedtheory of CA model which follow the development, and show the algorithm of classic modelsuch as NaSch model, determine the related parameters of traffic flow. Build the SOC oftraffic flow mathematical modeling as the mean field theory; calculate the order parameters ofsingle lane and multiple lanes. The result shown: at the condition of single lane, when thevehicle’s max speed is1, the traffic is in balance of mean filed, the density of vehicle reachthe max. Whereas, the condition of the multiple lanes is complicate, when the traffic is inbalance mean field, the impacts of factors are not only related with max velocity and density,it also related with the safe distance and the distance of vehicle. When the systems are farfrom balance, the traffic flow shown the characteristic of SOC. In this article, we make thetheory of dissipation of energy structure as the option, analyzed the average velocity whichrepresent the SOC characteristic. Observe the result of simulation of single lane and multiplelanes, find the rule of density, distance of vehicle, random slow probability, the max ofvelocity and the average of velocity. Build the mean field model which use the data ofsimulation, proof the result of simulation finally.
