With the rapid development of China’s bridge career, prestressed concrete continuousbeam bridge and prestressed concrete continuous rigid frame bridge have become the mostcommon and widely are used two bridge. However, these two bridge type have theirapplicable limitations, continuous beam bridge is needed to set bearings, and pier ofcontinuous rigid frame bridge is not needed to set bearings, but its internal forces is largelyaffected by temperature changes and shrinkage and creep of concrete as so on. For each thosecharacteristics of two bridge, there is a new bridge architecture that continuous rigid framebridge and continuous beam bridge are combined with, and called rigid frame-continuouscomposite beam bridge.Rigid frame-continuous composite beam bridge is continuous beam structure that usuallyare adopted the form of pier and beam are consolided in the middle of a continuous beam’s aspan or several spans, the remaining number of edge spans are set bearing continuous.Because of this bridge system is combined with continuous beam bridge and continuous rigidframe bridge, it preserves the advantages of both simultaneously abandoned the shortcomingsof a single structure. For three span short pier bridge structure of the past, people usually use acontinuous girder bridge as the main bridge design.the sioma bridge of Zambia is as anengineering background in this paper, and use finite element analysis software of Midas-Civilto establish two kinds of bridge models which short pier three-span rigid frame-continuouscomposite beam bridge and continuous beam bridge, through comparative analysis, summedup the special mechanical properties of the short pier three-span rigid frame-composite beambridge, the main work done as follows:1) Describes the development situation that at home and abroad and constructioncharacteristics of rigid frame-continuous beam composite bridge, summarized the theiradvantages and disadvantages of continuous girder bridge and Rigid Frame-continuous beambridge and continuous rigid frame bridge, a brief description of direction of development andproblems of rigid frame-continuous beam bridge, then proposed main content of this paperis researched.2) The sioma bridge of Zambia is as an engineering background, respectively use finiteelement analysis software of Midas-Civil to establish bridge analysis models which short pierthree-span rigid frame-continuous composite beam bridge and continuous beam bridge, inthe role of kinds of design loads and most unfavorable load combinations, acrossingcomparative analysis of force and displacement and stress distribution of two bridge-type, andchecking structural stress and crack resistance and deflection of two kinds of bridge, analysising summarizes special mechanical properties of the short pier three-span rigid frame-continuous beam bridge.3) Short pier three-span rigid frame-continuous beam bridge is relatively large tovarious factors that differential settlemen of piers and shrinkage and creep of cncrete andprestressing loss of concrete and large changes in ambient temperature as so on, analysisingsummed up Changes stress and deflection of the bridge under the action of various factors, find out identify the most unfavorable section position of the force, draw relevantconclusions.
