Miniaturization is the development tendency of HPLC. The gradual emergence of μHPLC, capillary HPLC and nano HPLC means that HPLC will gradually stride forwardtowards a trace and ultra trace analysis field. Wherein the precise control of micro fluid hasbecome a necessary condition of HPLC miniaturization and the precise flow control must takehigh-precision flow measurement methods as the premise. The paper takes measure methodsof liquid’s micro/nano flow rate as the research contents. A new micro-flow rate metertesting method was proposed and evaluated. Its principle was to acquire liquid’s instant flowrate by monitoring the temperature change of the fluid. It achieved a real-time, continuousmeasurement in the existing measure methods and research background.First of all, the paper established a capillary split-flow method and achieved output ofliquid’s micro/nano flow rate. Secondly, the paper analyzed and discussed the accuracy andlimitations of traditional measure methods. The shortage of methods was improved Finally,By traditional testing method to achieve the actual output flow rate for calibrate accuracy ofmicro-flow rate meter. The instantaneous flow pulsation of conventional reciprocating pistonpump in low flow rate was measured in this method. The paper evaluated the performance ofthe phase change micro/nano pump and a new direct drive micro/nano pump. The resultshows that the traditional measure methods is vulnerable to interference by external factors,with big measure error and measure incontinuity. And the test results are all the average flowrate. Compared with other measure methods, the test data of micro-flow rate meter is moreaccurate and stable. Micro-flow rate meter can truly reflect the change of instantaneous flowrate and can measure the range from nL/min to μL/min. The establishment of the methodprovides an effective means of testing for the development of micro/nano infusion pump. Theresearch of this project achieved its expected goal and completed flow measurement link inthe research work of high-pressure micro/nano pump.
