With growing demand of electric power and of efficiency of power usage, Power Factor Regulation has become one popular research field in power electronics. Along with the development of integrate circuit and digital signal processing technology, PFR technology combining with digital signal processing has become one of the research focuses in power electronics.Supply network power factor regulation is an electrical measurement and power factor control meter which is used to measure, calculate and display parameters, such as voltage, current, power factor, and THDi etc, and regulate the power factor by means of connect and disconnect certain groups of capacitor base on users’setup in manual or automatic way. With the rapid development of the automation in electric power system, precise measurement and regulation of the power factor are of great significance for guarantee supply network working economically and energy conservation.This paper presents a research on Digital Power Factor Regulation in detail. A windowed interpolated compensate algorithm is proposed to improve the precision in measurement and to optimize the traditional FFT algorithm. This algorithm is implemented using a high speed ARM7microprocessor as the central processing unit and is a good results had been achieved. Also, the AC sampling circuit, the alarm circuit, the keyboard circuit and the capacitor compensation circuit designed in the meter enables users make a real-time control of power factor. Based on the basic functions in the Supply Network Power Factor Regulator, the function of parameters display and users’ setup enhance the man-machine conversation ability of the system. The regulator based on this approach has a promising future ahead of it.
