Elastomer modified asphalts waterproof roll has been used more and morewidely in roofing waterproof project for the excellent high temperature stability andlow temperature crack resistance. However, elastomer modified asphalts waterproofroll will lose its effectiveness after by light in using process, which may shorten theservice life of waterproof roll. To prolong the service life of the SBS modified asphaltwaterproofing materials, this paper prepared by melt blending method of layereddouble hydroxyl compound metal hydroxide (LDHs)/SBS modified asphalt coatedcover material, system studied the kinds and dosage on the properties of LDHs/SBSmodified asphalt aging effects, by optical microscope to observe the microstructure ofLDHs/SBS modified asphalt change, and by using Fourier Transform InfraredSpectrometer (FTIR) analysis of the LDHs/SBS modified asphalt coated covermaterial before and after ultraviolet aging changes of the chemical structure. Theresults obtained are as follows:(1) LDHs/SBS modified asphalt coating is suitable for the preparation of processcondition is adding LDHs and molten matrix asphalt into the colloid mill, then addingSBS, in turn, under190℃, the shear while grinding30min, add packing, use highshear type mixing device, strong stirring1h under195℃. Optical microscopeanalysis results show that the grinding method of SBS particle size is small, can formbetter network crosslinking structure.(2) Ultraviolet aging and hot oxygen aging test showed that the kinds of SBSmodified asphalt has a great influence on ageing performance. Compared withcoating with talcum powder, heavy calcium carbonate as packing, with fly ash asfiller of the SBS modified asphalt coating aging resistant ability is good. FTIRanalysis show that the fly ash as filler of the SBS modified asphalt coating sampleC=O, S=O and C=C characteristic peak intensity than to join the other packingsample is smaller, showed stronger inhibition of SBS asphalt oxidation anddegradation ability of fly ash.(3) The dosage of fly ash has a greater influence on the aging performance of LDHs/SBS modified asphalt. After ultraviolet or hot oxygen aging, with the increaseof dosage of fly ash, LDHs/SBS modified asphalt coating constantly enhance itscapability of resistance to aging.(4) LDHs dosage of SBS modified asphalt has a great influence on performanceof coating, with the increasing dosage of LDHs, SBS modified asphalt coating agingresistant ability have been improved significantly, comprehensive consideration, theratio of LDHs/SBS modified asphalt was determined by the experiment finallycoating in the appropriate mix content of the LDHs was3%. Different types of LDHsof SBS modified asphalt coating to improve the performance of aging effect isbasically the same. After ultraviolet or hot oxygen aging, adding clean process(compared with the traditional process, cleaning process for the utilization of rawmaterials higher) LDHs coating is mixed with the traditional process in theproduction of LDHs coating softening point incremental slightly low, the low tenderdegrees lower basic are the same.
