The development of transportation accelerated the depletion of oil resources, it isnecessary to find suitable and renewable alternative fuels. Because of its widespreadbio-fuel availability and can form quickly closed loop carbon chain,it is considered tobe the most realistic way to alleviate energy shortages and to solve environmentalpollution problems in transportation. In recent years, bio-fuel2,5-dimethylfuran(DMF)came into sight, it has similar performance with gasoline, and it’s a kind of promisingbiological alternative fuel.Focus on DMF in this study, explained the molecular structural features of DMF,preparation methods, research status and problems may occur when use it; usingdetailed DMF oxidation mechanism, combined with the of chemical kineticssoftware to establish the DMF homogeneous cylinder internal combustion enginecompression ignition model. The model considers the gas heat transfer throughcylinder wall the model’s calculation equation is also derived. Use the model to studythe kinetics of chemical DMF and the ignition mechanism in cylinder, drew asimplified reaction path of DMF, found important intermediate products in thecombustion process of DMF, give more thoroughly understanding of DMF’stransformation process in internal combustion engine cylinder; study effect of variousinitial parameters on the combustion of DMF, then derived the combustion rules, simulated the difference between the two DMF and fuel ethanol under the sameconditions; study the formation mechanism of unconventional emissions, obtainedunconventional emissions generation and consumption conditions such as1,3-butadiene, benzene, phenol, formaldehyde and acetaldehyde; which provides atheoretical basis to unconventional emissions in engine test.Conventional engine test can only be carried out at specific conditions for fuelresearches, unlike the conventional engine test, the theoretical study of thecombustion performance of DMF was analyzed, so that people can get more depththeoretical understanding of DMF, this study provided theoretical support for theusing and promotion DMF and also biological alternative fuels.
