Water curtain ammunition is a kind of military products, and is suppressed bydifferent kinds of powder materials. The finished product determines the actual usingeffect. This paper is focused on a sort of powder material of water curtain ammunition.on the basis of current research situation and analysis and theoretical summary,comparatively rational suggestion are proposed for suppressing technology. Aiming atthis kind of powder material, deep researches are carried on the sides of suppressingtheoretical analysis, die and die-set designing and manufacture, and the designing ofsuppressing process system. The main research contents and achieved results aredescribed as follows:Firstly, the theoretical basis of finite element analysis of powder materials isintroduced, according to the physicochemical characteristic of this powder material,the theoretical method that is suitable for suppressing this kind of powder material isselected, and the boundary conditions are set. The characters of suppressingtechnological process are simulated using the finite element analysis softwareMSC.marc, analysising the influence rule of every factor that effects the structure andperformance of this powder material and optimizing them.Secondly, base on the theory of die and die-set and practical experience,dies and die-set that are appropriate for this kind of powder compacting are devised. In order to realize the methods of powder compacting in different approaches, a complete set of die-set is designed to upper dies push and middle dies be pulled and is devised to integrated structure for installing and dismantling.The dies and die-sets of static and dynamic analysis are conducted, using thesoftware of finite element analysis.Finally, Hydraulic power control system platform is constructed. the powersystem of suppressing adopts hydraulic drive. The structural shape like C is used for the rack of hydraulic machine. Digital scale controlling is used for thedisplacement of upper dies to make the fixed position accurate, and approachswitches are used for the displacement of middle dies. The whole process of suppression will adopt the process controlling of PLC to realize the automationof feeding and unloading. The operation and information are displayed by touch screen to make operation and modification of parameters easyThe research results of this paper have high theoretical significance and practical application value. The research results have a certain exploratory significance in theresearch of pressing technique of powder materials. The results described in the paperalso lay good foundations for the following up work.
