As Chinese social economic construction is in full swing, the country’s electricutilities is in the booming development. UHV transmission technology is beingwidely used in long-distance transmission in order to meet the needs of economicconstruction. Due to the high voltage, the corona discharge phenomenon is alsoincreasingly prominent on the high voltage power lines and electric equipment. Theharmful impact on people’s production and life becomes more and more serious. Thusdetection of corona discharge phenomenon becomes more and more significant.In the current research field of the corona discharge detection, the infrareddetection method, UV detection method and pulse current detection method are allclose detection methods, there is a certain application limitation using them. Thispaper use the helical antenna pairs, low noise amplifier, differential amplifier and aall-phase filtering technology to develop a corona discharge phenomenon detectionplatform intended to achieve long-range detection of corona discharge phenomenon.This article discusses the front-end hardware components of the platform, includingthe front-end detection antenna and its supporting analog filter, low noise amplifierand single-channel inverting signal and a differential amplifier, the set of each part isto improve the SNR of the received signal and enhanced signal amplitude for theback-end signal acquisition and processing; subsequently discusses signal acquisitionand digital signal processing of the platform, which is aimed at further highlight theelectromagnetic radiation signal of corona discharge in the field of digital signalprocessing so as to achieve the purpose of low SNR detection. This detectionplatform can achieve200meters corona discharge detection, thus proving thecorrectness of our design research platform, the prospect of application is verybroad.
