With the development of economy and architectural technology, people’s pursuitof inner architectural space effect is in the increase, especially of the buildings likestadiums and theaters, which are supposed to provide the huge public space by theirmain functions. To meet the high requirements for the length of the overhangs and thespan of the structure, the structural engineers are forced to choose the lightweightmaterials with high strength. Therefore, the construction scheme that combines thesteel structure roof and the lower reinforced concrete structure has widely beenapplied to the buildings of this kind. For the buildings adapted this scheme, theapproach of independent modeling and analysis design are commonly employed bythe traditional designs, which probably overlook the collaboration and interactiveeffects between the two structures in the combination, and consequently, affects therationality of the schemes comparison and decision, as well as economy and safety ofthe structure. In addition, in the overall modeling and collaborative analysis, since thestructure is composed of two different materials, the overall analysis damping ratio isinevitably different from that by one single material, which thus impacts the results ofthe design and analysis.Taking the process of the structure design of the main court of Tianjin TennisCenter as an example, the thesis introduces the selection method of the scheme of thesteel structure canopy, compares the independent analysis and collaborative analysis,and analyzes the overall structural damping ratio. Moreover, the necessity ofconducting such an architectural structure modeling and collaborative analysis for thistype of buildings are described in the thesis, and some suggestions on how to compareand select the steel structure, as well as to determine the effective damping ratio of themassive structure are put forward.
