The hydropower station plant’s (storage power station) heating (cooling) loadmainly include the heat gained or evaporated by hydropower maintenance structuresand the heat dissipating capacity of electrical equipments. In a way, the heat dissipatingcapacity of electrical equipments is the main factor which affects the plant indoortemperature. Therefore, the correct calculation of equipment heat dissipating capacity isimportant for the guidance of ventilation and air conditioning design of hydropowerstation.At present, the formula of electrical equipment heat dissipating capacity in《Hydropower Electromechanical Design Manual——Heating, Ventilation andAir-Conditioning》, whose reference data was got ten years ago, which is not fullyconsistent with the electrical equipment type for the present hydropower project. Inorder to obtain the correct data, As one backbone of Professor Li Angui hydropowerengineering thermal and humid environment research team, the author tested Huizhoupumped-storage power station、Pubugou hydropower station and Jiangbian hydropowerstation in July、August2013(Summer working condition) and January2014(Winterworking condition). We mainly tested electrical equipment wall temperature、plant walltemperature、plant indoor air temperature、electrical equipment size、plant size and soon.In this paper, in view of the equipments of main plant, the author came to thecalculation formula of convection heat transfer coefficient and radiation heat transfer equivalent coefficient between the electrical equipment and air. in main plant. At thesame time, we analyzed the impact of electrical equipment wall temperature and plantindoor temperature on electrical equipment surface heat transfer coefficient. Besides,based on generator layer, we calculated and analyzed the equipments heat dissipatingcapacity of Huizhou pumped-storage power station、Pubugou hydropower station andJiangbian hydropower station.This article proposed the area heat release index、volume heat release index、thetotal installed capacity heat release index of hydropower station electrical equipment,and calculated area heat release index、volume heat release index、the total installedcapacity heat release index of electrical equipment in generator layer, middle layer,turbine layer, volute layer of Huizhou pumped-storage power station、 Pubugouhydropower station and Jiangbian hydropower station.Due to the time,the research group only tested Huizhou pumped-storage powerstation、Pubugou hydropower station and Jiangbian hydropower station. In order toobtain further correct and reasonable hydropower station equipment electrical heatingcapacity data, we have to conduct large number of hydropower field tests, get therational、scientific calculation method of hydropower station electrical equipment heatdissipating capacity based on engineering practice and summarize engineeringexperience.
