The high strength steel combination eccentrically braced frame comes from theincorporation of eccentrically braced frame (EBF) areas and high strength steel (HSS) field.This incorporation not only inherits the advantage of two areas, but also complements eachother’s deficiency. Therefore, the research and development of the high strength steelcombination eccentrically braced frame will promote the development of the EBF and HSSand expand their range of application. The high strength steel combination Y-typeeccentrically braced frame stuied by this paper can not only give full play to theadvantages of EBF and HSS, but also inherit the particular characteristics of the Y-typeeccentrically braced frame.In this paper, three groups of20-storey high strength combination Y-type eccentricallybraced prototype structure which have different combinations of steel are designed byusing the software of SAP2000. Their combinations of steel are the pure steel Q345combination, Q460and Q345combination, Q690and Q345combination. Then, threefinite element modes of prototype structure are established by using the combination ofbeam element and solid element of ABAQUS to study their hysteretic behavior undercyclic loading. At last, many models of single storey and single span are setted up by usingshell element of ABAQUS to consider the influence on the hysteretic behavior when thelength of link beam, heightness-to-thinckness ration of web, depth-to-span ration of thehigh strength stell combination Y-type eccentrically braced frame with the combination ofsteel Q460and Q345and combination of steel Q690and Q345have changed, and discussthe reasonable range of the three parameters. The results show that: high strength steel combination Y-type eccentrically bracedframe not only can save a lot of steel, but also has good ductility and energy dissipationcapacity. So it is a kind of aseismic structure system which is worthy of futher study; Thehysteretic behavior of the structure combined of steel Q460and Q345is better than thestructure combined of steel Q690and Q345; When the length of link beam,heightness-to-thinckness ration of web, depth-to-span ration are changed, two kinds ofcombinatorical structure have similar law on ductility, energy dissipation capacity andstiffness;the structure combined of steel Q460and Q345is apply to the region of highseismic fortification intensity, and the structure combined of steel Q690and Q345is applyto the area of low seismic fortification intensity. In this way, their advantage can be makefull use, and the structure will be more reasonable.
