Urban village is a unique phenomenon during the urbanization. Its unique positionleads to serious problems in the drainage system and the management of the drainagesystem, such as chaotic layout of the pipe network, poor sewage drainage, seriouswaterlogging and overflows, lack of effective management methods, etc. Therefore, theobjective of the research is proposing the management methods of combined drainagesystem in urban villages and providing scientific policy-making basis for managementdepartments of the drainage system.In the paper, based on the analysis of the problems on operation and managementof the drainage system, we build the hydraulic model with both the sewage system andthe stormwater system. It introduces a specific modeling method for the combineddrainage system, Which includes basic data collection, processing and inputting,topological relationship checking, sub-catchment area creating, model parameterscalibration, and simulation scenarioes designing. The model is calibrated based onprofiles of pipelines, site-investigation, and water level monitoring. A platform of themanagement and control of drainage system is established, and it is an integration of themanhole water level monitoring system and drainage system model. With the platform,the goal of the drainage system real-time viewing can be achieved. And the platform canprovide decision basis for the management apartment.In the research, the drainage system of Bsishizhou urban village in Shenzhen isinvestigated. A combined drainage system model and a platform of drainage system inurban village are built. Based on different return periods, the urban sewer sediment anddifferent boundary conditions, different scenarios are designed. According to theanalysis of the modeling result of the scenarios, capacity and bottleneck of drainagesystem can be obtained. The results show, the drainage system can meet the demand ofdrainage, when the return period is less than10years. And overflows would not happenwhen the return period is less than50years.The results show that the modeling methods of combined drainage system canprovide a reference for the drainage system modeling under the condition of lackingdata. The platform of drainage system management can help predict the situation of waterlogging and overflow under different rainfall scenarios, and guide the managementof drainage system, and provide scientific basis for routine maintenance inspection.
