Since the end of World War II, especially in the1970s, with the rapidrise of the developed countries in Europe and America leading by the UnitedStates and Great Britain, many countries were becoming more and moredependent on natural resources such as oil. However, after the economicdevelopment of those developed countries was severely hit due to the1stand2nd oil crisis in1973and1979incurred by the instability of MiddleEast s situation, they began to reflect and conduct studies andresearches on the use and conservation of energy resources, and buildingenergy consumption was included. With the advent of21st century, construction industry has seen swiftdevelopment. Many studies and researches on construction industry haveshifted the focus from the single energy saving to multi-folded greenbuildings. With China s material and cultural life improving and Chinesepeople s awareness of environmental protection increasing, more and moredeveloper and architects are seeking green buildings and healthy livingand work environment as their goal. Now, people not only emphasize thequality, structural safety, material s reliability and low price of anindividual building, but also concern about environment of theresidential quarter, indoor air quality and how the consumption ofmaterials will affect the environment and energy. Apart from that, thewhole society has also gradually established an awareness of greenarchitecture, more and more favoring an energy saving, environmentallyfriendly, green and ecological working and living environment. All thosefactors are helping to promote the construction industry, which is an oldand traditional industry, towards a green architect development road.Since the1990s, much emphasis in China has been paid to the idea ofgreen architecture and this trend reached a periodical climax after2008Beijing Olympic Games. A large number of green buildings, greenconstruction technologies and evaluation systems have sprung up invarious cities and newly-built development areas, among which many arefound inapplicable and unenforceable, and green architecture is notreally green has become a big problem. As a result, how to promote a better and healthy development of architecture industry is becoming amajor and important task. This thesis, taking the construction of operation and maintenancecenter of Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-city as the example and using thecombination of theory and practice, analyzes and studies four aspectsincluding the green architecture theory system, green architectureplanning and design, green construction, operation and maintenance, andbenefit evaluation, probes how to integrate resources, improve theutilization of natural resources, save the energy and lower theconsumption, and then proposes concrete and effective method on how toset up an integral green architecture practice system. The thesis alsomakes a preliminary verification on green architecture system, forecaststhe future of green architecture concept. This study and analysis on greenarchitecture industry is expected to exert a significant impact inpromoting the establishment and development of public green architecturesystem.
