With the development of science and technology, such as lasers, electromagnetic pulse, research on the new weapons and other applications, pulse power technology has gainedrapid development. The capacitor is the most common form of the energy storage unit forits simple and convenient. As more in pulsed power applications, it can also be seen in thevacuum environment of the pulse power applications. Because of the heat and radiation invacuum environment, the power is different from conventional pulse power. It isparticularly important to study the charging high voltage capacitor in vacuum. This paper compares some converters and gives the difference. Due to the seriesresonant power converter can reduce the loss, a small size, high efficiency, high powerdensity, constant current charging, this paper selects the series resonant converter as acapacitor charging power supply. This thesis studies the SRC for use in capacitor charging power supply. The operatingmodes are identified and the representative equations derived. Also the high voltagetransformer parasites affect the normal operation of the converter. The circuit converter isdesigned, including the power switch, inductor and high-voltage transformer. The loss ofpower diodes, mosfet, magnetic components such as transformers and resonant inductorwere calculated and analyzed. Through the analysis of the special vacuum environment, theissues of heat and radiation for converter have been analyzed, and give some targetedapproach. Finally, the power supply is made base on previous content and the related experimentsare carried out on a prototype. This paper also gives the experimental data and Waveform. This experimental results validate the correctness and availability of the design.
