The vibration of structures in transport vehicles not only affects the passengers’ ridecomfort, security and reliable transportation for goods, but also reduce the structuralreliability and efficiency of transportation of transport vehicles. Taking effectivemeasures to improve vibrational characteristics of transport vehicles’ structures hasgreat significance to improve the vehicles’ ride comfort quality. This thesis presents a study on coupling characteristics of subsystems of a transportvehicle in order to improve the ride comfort quality. Connecting structures between vanbody and chassis was investigated in transport vehicles of some kinds and van bodymounting system with elastic supports was applied. Van body mounting system wasoptimized before a ride comfort analysis model for transport vehicle was establishedand validated by test, parameters was derived aiming at taking the coupling vibrationalcharacteristics of cab-chassis-van body system into account. A mechanic model ofcoupled vibration system with elastic supports was analyzed based on state space theory, with subsystem coupling coefficient and relative attenuate coefficient to evaluate thetransfer characteristics. Parameter study was taken using Latin hypercube sampling, and relationships between mount parameters and system coupling characteristics wasdiscussed. Neighborhood cultivation genetic algorithm was adopted to solve the multi-objective optimization problem and PARETO optimal solution set was obtained fortransport vehicle coupling system, which was validated by vibration responses ofsubstructure calculated by the ride comfort analysis model. The results show that coupling characteristics of cab-chassis and van body-chassissubsystems interact each other, and minimizing relative attenuate coefficients ofsubsystems as well as coordinating coupling vibrational characteristics of subsystemscan reduce vibration responses of substructure in transport vehicles. Improvements ofcoupling characteristics of both cab-chassis and van body-chassis subsystems in cab-chassis-van body system can help optimize ride comfort quality of vehicles, and themethod of optimization calculation to minimize relative attenuate coefficients isfeasible. The results and methods of the study are helpful for the design and analysis of van body mounting system in transport vehicles as well as other coupled vibration systemwith elastic supports.
