With the rapid development of computer systems, processor computes faster andfaster. This made power consuming of processors increase a lot. At the same time,supply voltage of processors had a decreasing trend. As a result, circuit of processorpower increased. The running of processors needed a converter with low voltage andhigh current output capability provides power supply. Power of AC220voltage wasconverted into DC voltage first in a processor system. Distributed by DC bus,electricity was converted into needed voltage by DC-DC converter. The performanceof power supply which was required for processors was mainly decided by theDC-DC converter. Power consuming of processor was affected by its activity and thewhole processor system was a load which changed at every moment. In order tomaintain a constant output voltage at the load rapidly changing situations, gooddynamic response ability of converter was required. These features presented newchallenges for DC-DC convertor. Studying on low voltage high current DC-DCconverter with good dynamic response ability has important practical significance.After brief introduction of technology used in converter and research on converter,this paper resolved the problem of increasing converter output current under thecondition of low output voltage firstly. After analyzing and comparing kinds oftopological, a new one which was looked like bridge topological was proposed basedon typical topological accorded to the multi-phrase thinking. The new topologicalswitched among three states according to changes of load. It tried to distribute currentevenly among every phrase, so that the effect of efficiency which caused by highoutput current could be reduced. And the converter could operate in a high-efficiencycondition in any case. Then, in order to improve dynamic response of converter, thispaper carried out relevant research. Finally a compensation circuit for improvingdynamic response was designed based on the thinking of load correction. Afterintroducing working principle in detail, realization of circuit was given.Simulation based on Matlab/Simulink validated the feasibility of new convertertopological. Every possible working state was verified. Hardware experimentalplatform was set up and being tested. Both simulation and experience were achievedthe desired goal.
