The development of the smart grid creates conditions for application of the TSC(Total Supply Capability) of distribution network. Under this background, thedistribution network will present new characteristics of more efficient in planning andmore intelligent in operation. The distributed generation will play a more active rolein the future smart distribution network. In view of this, this paper studies the TSC ofdistribution network with DG.Firstly, under the background of smart gird, this paper investigates into the newpattern of the planning and operation of the distribution network, and proposes newconcepts of efficient planning and operation of distribution network based on the TSCof distribution network.Secondly, a sitting method for distributed generation in the large-scale distributednetwork with multiple feeders is proposed, in which the yearly wind/solar source andload data are taken into consideration. The genetic algorithm is used for optimization.Impacts of distributed generation on the loss and voltage of distributed network withmultiple feeders is researched, considering the yearly solar/wind source and timingcharacteristics of load.Thirdly, an N-1security verification method and a simulation approachingmethod of TSC based on power flow are given, which has considered loss, voltageconstraints and voltage-regulating measures accurately. Then the paper compares andanalyses the results of TSC in five scenes, including whether considering voltageconstraints or not and considering the voltage-regulating measures separately or in themeantime to get the impact of power flow and loss on TSC.Finally, an N-1security verification method and a simulation approachingmethod of TSC for distribution network with DG based on power flow are given.Furthermore, the paper analyses the impact of DGs varying in types, capacity andlocations of access points on TSC.The work of this paper has laid a foundation for efficient planning and operationof smart distribution network with DG.
