With the increasing environmental pollution and energy crisis, the electric car hasbeen paid more and more attention, but due to the bottleneck of existing technology,many scholars has been plagued by electric vehicle mileage problem. Extended-Rangeelectric vehicle which in the electrified degree is closer to the pure electric vehicles isdifferent from traditional hybrid cars. Compared to pure electric vehicles, it isprovided a range extender, and greatly improves the electric vehicle mileage.Extended range electric vehicle is equivalent to the standby generator, and has theadvantages of high efficiency, energy saving, low emission. In this paper, throughcomparing the Extended-Range electric vehicles with traditional hybrid electricvehicles, and the pure electric vehicles, given the characteristics of range extenderworking mode, and illuminated the problems existing in range extender.This article make the PMSG in electric as a motor to help engine start. Thecorresponding startup strategy is needed, and the parameter tuning process isdiscussed in detail.PWM rectifier control scheme is presents for range extender, and compared withtraditional generator control, expounding the superiority of this scheme. After theestablishment of the mathematical model of system, two control schemes areproposed, respectively, feedforward decoupling control strategy based on phaselocked loop and feedforward decoupling control strategy based on motor positionfeedback control. They are same in the decoupling strategy, and different in obtainingthe voltage vector. The two strategies can be used for different applications.This paper executed a experiment based on TMS320F28035chip of TI company,the simulation and experiment platform proved of the correctness of the designmethod.
