A special-shaped cable-stayed bridge is used in the design of city landscapebridges because of its unique shape. It’s necessary to conduct a further research in thedesign method and construction technique. It needs more exploration on the basis ofexisting theory in cable tension optimization under dead loads. Problems should besummarized in the construction and operation so as to provide a reference for theconstruction of similar projects. As the construction process is closely related to the completion state, the thesisconsiders a cable-stayed bridge with a special shape in a city. First, cable tension isoptimized under dead loads. Second, a construction process analysis, monitoring andcontrol are conducted. Finally, aiming at cable vibration phenomenon of the bridge, numerical simulation is carried out to investigate cable vibration mitigation effect ofthe cable system with cables and cross ties. The following aspects are studied in thisthesis.(1) The bridge of the project has arc pylons with various sections and stay cablesare in the network form. Minimum energy method with multi-restrictions is used forcable tension optimization under dead loads. The results indicate that cables in thenetwork form are much better.(2) A spatial finite element model of the cable-stayed bridge is established andthe simulation analysis of construction process is conducted. The results of tests andcalculation are compared, and the parameter sensitivity analysis of error is alsoconducted.(3) Through the whole process of construction monitoring, including theelevations of the pylon and main girder, the stresses of the key section and cabletensions, force state and linear state of completion state achieves the expected aim ofdesign and monitoring aim is completed.(4) An analysis is conducted for the cable vibration cause, and a dynamiccharacteristic analysis is used in the cable system with cables and cross ties ofdifferent layout forms. A single cross tie with part cables forming a partial cable netstructure is proposed for vibration reduction.
