In order to further improve the performance of propellant, solve the problemof differential viscosity, easy to reunite, the shape of crystal is irregular, andunstable under high temperature of ammonium perchlorate (AP). The method ofsolvent-non-solvent re-crystallization is used to prepare spherify AP. The influencerule of different experimental conditions on re-crystallization as type ofsolvent/non-solvent, precipitation temperature, dripping speed rate, stirringintensity and the volume of solvent and non-solvent is discussed. Conclusions areas following:(1)The choice of solvent and non-solvent is determined according to solubilitytest: water, DMF, NMP as solvent and dichloromethane, ethyl acetate asnon-solvent.(2)Spherify AP is prepared With the preparation technics:DMF as solvent,dichloromethane as non-solvent, precipitation temperature is50℃,dripping speedrate is60drop/min, stirring rate is100rpm.(3)The SEM analysis results show that the AP products with large size, most isin spherical. The X-ray diffraction analysis show that the position of the diffractionAP products moved forward compared to raw AP. The thermal performance analysisshows that the position and temperature of exothermic peak, and the quality losshas changed. The temperature of the first and the second exothermic peak are raisedby21℃and4.6℃respectively. The thermal performance of AP has improvedwhichverified the feasibility of the preparation technics.
